The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough.
~Randy Pausch, American professor and author of The Last Lecture
When you find a brick wall stopping your journey toward a particular destination, you may get extremely frustrated and disappointed if you cannot quickly figure out a way around it. That is when you should embrace the brick wall as a temporary pause, not a roadblock, and use it to reevaluate your direction; refocus your dream and reenergize your spirit so that the next chapter of your story is one of determination and glory. For you will find a way over, around, or through that obstacle when you clarify the direction you will take. You will start to see your brick walls not as obstacles but as opportunities to come up with creative solutions to help you build a strong foundation. Instead of banging your head against the wall, look for the ladder that is there waiting for you to use to climb over to the other side. Or perhaps the wall will simply disappear. See the brick wall for what it is, and stand fast in the knowledge that you will figure out a way to overcome it and succeed, no matter what, in realizing your dreams. You know that magic and miracles await you on the other side! Having surpassed the wall, it will feel so good to look back!
