Leslie A. Rasmussen
Author of After Happily Ever After.
A women’s commercial fiction about a forty-five-year-old woman, Maggie Dolan, who isn’t dealing well with getting older. Once a high-level executive at a publishing company, she chose to be a stay-at-home mom for the last seventeen years. Her husband of eighteen years has been disconnected and hiding a secret, and her daughter will soon be leaving for college, leaving her with an empty nest.
Deciding it’s finally her time to figure out the rest of her life, Maggie steps out into an exciting and sometimes scary journey of discovering who she is now. Dealing with her marriage, a narcissistic mother, a brother who’s always resented her, and most damaging of all, the news that her father has medical issues, she finds herself torn between the safety of what she’s always known and something more exciting that she never expected.
Inspiration
The novel is inspired by mine and my friends’ experiences about our marriages and families. As we’ve gotten older, we’ve sometimes scrutinized the decisions that got us to where we are today. And at middle age, we face our own mortality when we witness the difficulties our parents go through as they age.
Order Details
After Happily Ever After will be available on April 6th , on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel and

Author of the Sean McPherson novels—imagine Chief Inspector Gamache meetsThe Last Mrs. Parrish. Red licorice aficionado, traveler, and photographer, because sometimes the best word choice is a photo.
Indelible: A Sean McPherson Novel, Book One
Murder at a writing retreat, but this one isn’t imaginary. Authors only kill with words. Or do they?
A psychopathic serial killer takes on the persona of a writer-in-residence at Pines & Quill, a secluded writing retreat in the Pacific Northwest, where he plans to murder his next victim.
Inspiration
My inspiration for this series was based on my stay at Hedgebrook, a rural retreat for women writers on Whidbey Island, Washington. Thick woods, individual cabins (each author is by themselves), and one handsome groundskeeper that I saw in the distance later, my imagination took over and voilà. The rest is history.
