The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.
~Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytic psychology
Children are often asked the age-old question, “What will you be when you grow up?” The response is generally enthusiastic as the child ponders all the possibilities that his or her future could hold. When adults are asked the same question, the reaction is generally limited by the belief that it may be too late to change the path that they have already chosen. If we shift our approach and believe that it is our privilege to daily become who we truly are, then it must follow that the best of our story is still being written. Think about it. We are born with a purpose. In that little body and mind, the seeds have been planted that, if nurtured and cared for, will allow talents and skills to be developed that will serve us well. As we are delivered opportunities along the way, we have the privilege to know ourselves more. When we accept that everything is unfolding as it should, we can truly trust that the choices we continue to make are perfect for what we need to learn. And we can continue to become as we go. We must stand proud with no judgments, only the desire to be true to our path. This is truly the privilege that we all have as we experience life. Thank each and every one along the way for being true to themselves because their doing so gives others permission to do the same!
