This is so true! The eternal optimist believes that when challenges get thrown your way this too shall pass! And even in the midst of the difficulty, the eternal optimist believes that it is better to get right back up and never quit than to succumb to a life of misery. I was in a place where I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders and there was no way I could bounce back from something so difficult like the loss of my mom. I was reminded by a little girl all of 2 years old who sang to me “never give up, never give up.” Then at 5 when we lost our dog, she said again,”Be brave and this is when we hold onto each other.” There is a lot of wisdom that comes from the children. It is important to pay close attention to the simple things that they say that mean so much. Because inspired by never give up, I slowly rose from the darkest place that I have known thus far and the illusory boulders started to fall off of my shoulders. As I could stand straighter and straighter, the boulders miraculously turned into balloons and I smiled as I watched them just float away. I am not saying that it was easy process in the least. I am saying that it is more than possible that if you take one step at a time, are brave and hold onto each other, you will rise from the ashes to see a brighter day where your light will shine again! So be the eternal optimist when life throws you a curve ball. When you are knocked down, grab hold of the hand of the brightest soul you can find and start to stand straight up again. Then repeat over and over- I’m not going to let this get me down!
