Face your fears!
“Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.”Bertrand Russell
As we wake each and every day ready to face the world, we make choices at that very moment when our feet hit the floor- we can choose to be empowered by life or we can choose to be overwhelmed by our fear of the unknown. Why is it that we make the choice to give power to our fears, named or unnamed? Why is it that we allow negative and debilitating thoughts enter our mind that only limit our ability to flourish? Why is it that we allow the anxiety from false evidence appearing real (FEAR) to take over and leave us paralyzed to move forward? Yes, the question is WHY? Because the reality is that the choice is ours to make. We get to decide what we believe and what we don’t believe. We get to decide what we store away and what we reject. We get to decide by our choices whether today we will be kind or we will be cruel to ourselves. When you make the decision to face your fears, you take away their power of control because in the end you will see that what you fear is not real. And, when you face your fears and realize it was only an illusion, you have gained a wisdom beyond measure. Now, you have stepped forward and made a choice to be empowered in your life by what you know to be true for you. And, with this new sense of strength, you have given yourself the gift of wisdom. Because, when you lift the veil and release the fear, you begin to realize that you were your own worst enemy all along and it was always you who could be your greatest warrior. Through the experience of letting go, you receive the blessings of the beauty that waits for you. I do understand that when you feel the unrelenting grasp of fear on your mind, the body follows by reacting in the way it was meant to, by protecting through the fight of flight response. When there are times like this, I encourage you to find a mentor who has gone through the incredible process of clearing the fears from their mind by releasing the negative and detrimental thoughts from their world. I guarantee when you make that choice to face the fear and call out for help in doing so, many will come to your aid and assist you so that you may be able to see all the good that awaits you. You don’t have to conquer fear on your own, but you do have to make the choice to conquer fear. And, when you make that choice, as Eleanor Roosevelt has said, “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.” It is really that simple, we just make it complicated. So as you embark on a beautiful weekend, I encourage you to make the decisions to face your fears little by little and see how far your confidence in the universe will take you. How wise!
