My bad habits aren’t my title. My strengths and my talent are my title.
~Layne Staley, American musician and songwriter
Will you take a moment out of your daily critique and allow me to introduce you to your strengths? Your strengths are pleased to make your acquaintance as they say “I can dance, I can play, I can write, and I can say, I am great, I am humble, and I have certainly had my share of tumbles. But lighten up, if you will, for today is a new day; with enthusiasm and passion, I will show you the way. It is a pleasure to finally get your attention. Now turn your head and start looking in the right direction. I have known you all along. It is about time I came through when you were just humming and singing your song.” You turn to ask, almost pleading: “Can you stay?”
Then your strengths respond: “I would be delighted, but there is only one way. You must accept me with love and gratitude, for if you do, I will never go away.” Now that you have been reintroduced to your greatest ally, instead of berating yourself for what you cannot do, know that there is so much you can do. Embrace your blessings and your strengths. It is truly the recognition of your God-given talents that will define the trajectory of your life. As you own your strengths and gifts, your lifelong journey will be renewed with an incredible light that sparks your interest in living again. Let that be your title!
Magical Key to Bliss: Introduce yourself to your strengths on a daily basis, and leave your focus there!
