From a Place of Strength

“…always be looking for that which you do well and that which you love doing, and when you find those two things together, man, you got it.”

Colin Powell

Imagine getting the opportunity of a lifetime- what would you do with it? Some may question their ability or skills to do what is needed and back away from the challenge. While others would muster up all the courage they could handle, embrace a certain command presence, and go for it.

It is time to ask yourself that question, what would you do? Life is quite the process. If you feel like you are in a rut, you may be spending a lot of time and energy doing things that you don’t want to do.  While it may be necessary at the time, if you do not find a balance, when the opportunity arises to do that thing that you do well and love doing, you may be too tired to step up.  This is where your inner strength is called upon.  When you get the opportunity to collaborate with amazing creative geniuses like you and you get excited about the possibilities that are in store because of it, it is there and then that you need to silence the inner and outer critics, choose appropriately where to put your energy, place both hands on the wheel, and just drive in the direction of your greatest dreams.

Such a scary proposition when you are used to staying in your comfort zone. You are called as the hero of your journey and cannot afford to step aside when that day comes.  You are, as are we all, diamonds in the rough, molded by experiences. As you and I allow ourselves to take advantage of the opportunities as they come to light, we get to shine more and more each and everyday. Having a conversation with my child this morning about opportunity, it has always been my belief that when we are ready the universe will provide those chances for us to shine. It is what we choose to do with what comes up that will make all the difference.  He loves football. He sleeps with his football. He has the opportunity to play football as a starter in a position that he is really good at. I told him to go out there each and every time, remembering that this chance was given to him, from a place of strength what will he do with it?

It can be sports, professional endeavors, musical aspirations, sharing your writing with the world, anything at all.  Imagine getting the opportunity of a lifetime and saying a resounding YES over and over again to life.  God and this universe work in such amazing ways. Once we start to pay attention and act from a place of strength, confidence and of course, creativity, there is absolutely no telling what we are all capable of doing.  And there, when we find the thing we are good at and love at the same instance- man, we got it! We are all, each one of us, ready to bloom at any given time-know that, stand tall and keep moving forward blessed to inspire with your legacy.  Here is to saying a confident YES to the journey!
